note 3 battery life getting worse

Bot the phone abt 2 months back and i was extremely happy with the long battery life.. it easily last me the whole day(more than 10 hrs)..

But from last week onward it changed.. it barely last 6 hrs and by mid day I have to recharge..and the phone is quite hot during idle..

My usuage was about the same all the time..

Any of u guys face similar issue??

if your phone is quite hot during idle, that mean some processes is still running.

That is the reason why yr note 3 battery last only 6 hours.

You need to find out that process and stop it from running or worse case do a factory reset.

Google appears to have screwed something up recently, wakelocking every Android phone like crazy. Yesterday Google Play Services managed to chew through my entire battery life in less than a day where it normally lasts 1.5 to 2 days. Apparently it can be fixed (though not guaranteed) by rebooting the phone if you see Google Play Services keeping your phone awake for hours when you go into the Battery report in Settings.

Of course, turn off the "Use Wireless Networks" option under Location Services as well. That thing is another major source of wakelocks.

did u install any new apps recently which will run in the background?

check if location access is allowed under maps or GPS settings.

of course check if you have any widget that is asking for refresh every 15 mins like calendar or mail apps...

google maps is usually the biggest chewer of batter life cos it is always looking for location even when GPS is off...

i had the Google Play eating my battery yesterday ... so i disabled all notification to check for updates in Google Play & reset my phone

Issue resolved for me

yesterday the battery life was like not really good. Whole day battery only lasted more than 20 hours.

i saw huge battery drain is from Android device where the cpu stays awake like 1hr plus ...

I also kena the awake issues. Found it was awake for 18 plus hours. Went and stopped all Google services and restart. Then the problem went away even though the services restarted automatically.
