Note 3 Chrome Border Damage

The chrome border lining my note 3 was badly dented on the lower left edge. The customer service counter staff took a look and quoted me at least $250 as she said the upper part of the chrome was actually part of the LCD screen, so the LCD needed to be replaced as well.

How true is this? I mean if it's part of the LCD, shouldn't my screen be cracked or damaged already?

Is there anywhere I can get a second opinion ?

cant speak for the Note 3 however if the archecture of N3 mirrors the S4 then what the CS said is correct.

the chrome bezel is now attached to the LCD and comes as a single SKU which means, if either your LCD or the chrome needs replacement the whole assembly needs to be changed.

there's no option to just replace either the LCD or just the chrome bezel.

Sigh of this is true then I guess I will fit a all round protection case on it and continue using it. The phone and screen is perfectly fine otherwise.

Yeah. My s4 also dented but the thought of spending so much just to fix a dent is ridiculous.

What you can so though is.... Spoil the LCD .. That way you get a free bezel replacement hehe. That said I'm not sure how to do that. You got any dead pixels etc?

Go facebook and search for iphone repair singapore at sim lim square. .....replacement of bezel is $95.

Ha ha no, my screen is all good. Although my note 3 still under warranty, I doubt a dented bezel will be covered..

the change of either LCD display, glass screen or bezel would entail the change of the other two components as they come together in one set.

estimated cost around 250-300, better let technician assess first to give you more specific advice
