I was out shopping for a note 4 and tried handling them and notice immediately the difference in texture on the back cover between the black and white color note 4.

So i asked the promoter if they know what's happening. The one at challenger kept insisting that the texture is the same between the black and white when it's so obvious that it's not. Many other promoters when asked the question also gave a nonchalent reply.

either they are paid too little or they simply are not interested in their job.

Not uncommon for difference colour to have different texture/material, particularly between black and white version. Some texture/coating/finishing/material attracts dirt more easily than others, so for white versions, normally manufacturers would try to at least make sure the white back doesn't stain over short use. For example, BlackBerry Q10 black version rubbery grippy soft touch finish, white version is less grippy with a different texture and finishing.

Or it could just be a design decision. LG G2, red version textured matte finish, white and black version is glossy. HTC One E8 red version is glossy, grey version is matte. HTC One M8, grey is brushed metal finish, silver is smooth anodised finish. I could go on and on. Bottom line is, it's normal. :)

So how does the texture influence your decision to select which colour? Even if there is a difference, so what? LOL...

I dunno what are you trying to prove leh..

I guess if you are a promoter of the phone, that is the same kind of attitude that you will show also.

the texture does affect my decision a bit , but the attitude of the promoter influence my buying decision from that particular shop a great deal.

I am trying to prove that if you are the boss, please pay more to get better and knowledgeble staff. no wonder people are buying online as don't find any value add from buying at retail store with these kind of retail staff.

seriously who cares about the technicality. i ask the promoter if they can feel the difference, a simple yes or no answer will do . but to insist that it's the same when obviously it's not just go to show how much they know about their products.

There is a difference in texture. The white is more smooth and the black seems to have a better grip.

Most promoters are there to earn money only. I dun think they know the product well.

i went to westgate samsung to collect my pre ordered note edge....after payment, walk around the shop see see look look....

saw the gear circle in a box....look around for display set but can't find.
approach one lady staff and ask for display set, the lady blur blur and call out a male staff, the male staff ask another male staff, whom say there are no display set.....
tell me to go 3rd floor starhub to see the display set.

I prefer the texture of black. Yes I know its plastic but it doesn't feel like plastic. White feels unmistakably plastic. Plus white tends to attract stains.

White and black never same texture since Note 3.

Black is soft where white is harder.
