Today, I bought for my daughter what I felt was good value for money, Dell XPS 13, was either this or the ASUS 305, in the end the almost borderless design was my daughter's preference. The specs are as follows:

- Intel Core i7-6560U Processor(2.2GHz with Intel Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz, 4M Cache)
- 13.3" UltraSharp™ QHD+ (3200x1800) InfinityEdge touch display
- 8GB 1866Mhz LPDDR3
- 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD) Hard Drive
- Intel Iris Graphics 540
- Spill-resistant Backlit Keyboard
- Dual Band Wireless 802.11ac
- High Definition Audio + Waves MaxxAudio Pro
- USB 3.0 (2) - 1 w/PowerShare, Thunderbolt 3 (1), BT 4.1
- Gigabit Ethernet network 10/100/1000
- Integrated HD (720p) webcam with dual array digital microphones
- 1.29kg for with battery (built-in) up to 10hr battery life
- Bundled items also includes, 1TB external HDD, Headset for use with Skype Business, laptop lock, wired Mouse, USB Ethernet Adapter, USB-C(M) to VGA(F) Adapter, Dell Backpack, External DVD+/-RW Optical Drive

I thought I would be getting a Dell Adapter - USB 3.0 to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB but instead got a single VGA and single Ethernet individual adapters instead.

Anyway, WiFi is still the most common way my daughter will connect at home and in Poly, but would have been nice to have that Dell USB 3.0 to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB combo adapter.

Paid $1955.00 covered for entire Poly 3yr term.

Nice specs! :)
And now she's all set for her tertiary studies!

Yup, Ethernet would most probably not be used. Most Tertiary institutions would have already switched to both HDMI & VGA as a projection input options - so the VGA would come in handy in case HDMI doesn't work.

Heh. How about a skin maybe?

Biotech doesn't need a powerful GPU or CPU, ...

For biotechnology, not sure if they do bioinformatics which is essentially data mining on large genome data sets. This requires some serious CPU, RAM and storage.

Definitely, Yes !! wow nice skin.

Only thing I am hopeless with pasting these stuff including iPhone screen protector as well, once I wasted 2 screen protectors and the third one also not as nice as compared to those done by the shops. It was the last time I order from webstore, rather I go to shop and have them paste it for me.

Know of any shops that can get this for XPS 13 skin and paste it as well?

Heard plenty of wonderful things about the XPS 13 :). Glad to see that people are taking it up, perhaps I'll see it around soon :D

Ordered an XPS 13 (9350) casing instead, since pasting skin is a skill I admittedly am hopeless. Ordered the case from Amazon the brand is mCover, got the clear case version.

If it was for my use, I would get that adapter as well, am now searching for a suitable backpack, my daughter doesn't like the bundled backpack, to be honest the backpack looks quite decent.

Targus on promotion in IT Show. You might want to consider or Samsonite is another good brand.
