Where got cheaper? I input my this month electricity KWH, several electric open retailer here is either lesser by $1 or is higher hence until now I still hasn’t make the switch
SP rate for now is 32.47 cents with GST
Most retailers 1 year contract is less than 30 cents with GST. Cheaper by a little bit.

The good old days are over.

SG is importing more expensive green electricity.

Enjoy the current rates while they last.

I choose fixed plan and input the KWH and the pricing list is the same of my SP bill, some even higher

Must learn from Mobile/ISP service provider offer different deal and offer

If all offer the same pricing, it defeat the purpose of having new players in the electricity market

Consumer might just stay put with SP
It's like the Internet broadband. Not much incentive to move because of the high cost of installing and paying the setup fees.

With solar panel and more electricity open retailers coming into the market, customer by right should be getting better deals

for isp, iirc singtel, starhub, m1 and simba have their own infrastructure so they can charge whatever they want to stay competitive. for electricity all take from wholesale SP how to have any real competition. they charge lesser then make loss then go kaput since all taking from same source

Price may look similar to you but the slight difference matters to the suppliers when the many KWhs and many users are aggregated.

The suppliers are simply earning thru arbitrage. Because the cost of electricity from the base source fluctuates, the rate they charge is basically based on their predictions of how the prices will change within the short term.

Thing that I learn is to sign contract with big retailer not those small ulu one. When oil price and electricity rate goes up, the small one toh and you suck thumb have to go find other retailer to recontract at higher price before your contract up.
