Been like almost 10 years since I last bought a desktop casing.
Now shopping for a new one and seems like the nicer yet affordable tower casing basically expects people to have mostly SSD and <3 drives. Even then, it is like 4~6 2.5" slots.

And online shops basically don't expect people to ever filter search by number of drive slots :D

Any recommendations for ATX casing with side window (acrylic is fine) and can take at least four 3.5" drives + two 2.5" drives?

Fractal design r6
Cooler master master box pro 5
Enthoo evolv X

My suggestion is to buy bigger HDDs and restrict yourself to just two drives

Phanteks enthoo pro m and evolv support up to 8 3.5hdd. U just need to buy additional mounting brackets.

Enthoo pro and luxe already support more than 4.

Usage trends have changed

Now with the price of 4TB or even larger HDDs, it makes less sense now to have more than 2x mechanical HDDs for most people.

And if your use-case scenario is such that you really need that much storage, you are probably better off investing in an external USB 3.0/Thunderbolt 3 enclosure or NAS with proper RAID features anyway

Large HDDs are comparatively cheap nowadays. Two 8GB HDDs should be more than enough for most people.

Some cases do have options for expansion if you need more than two. I'm currently using three HDDs in my Phanteks P400s, adding a HDD mount to put in the third HDD. This casing can support another 3 HDD mounts for a total of six HDDs. (Two SSDs are mounted at the back.)

There are advantages of having multiple drives. Usually if you are doing something on one drive, additional tasks on it are severely impacted. Having multiple drives means u can do concurrent things on each disk and it is more resilient. If one disk fails, you don't lose all.

H440 can take a lot of drives. Most Coolermasters can as well. My BURST mining rig used a Coolermaster with 6x8TB drives

You can use the media creation tool and load it onto a USB drive to install Windows. All you need from the $150 package is the key.
