AFAIK its based on what your HR declare. Unless you are self employed then maybe from IRAS.If no need to make up claim? They pay us based on most recent income tax declared amount?
No lah! Platoon Sergeant, PC, CSM, OC, etc. I don't think a section commander even qualifies as KAH.wad are the key Appointment holder?
is medics consider key appointment holder?
They divide into service pay and make up pay BUT its actually bull sh*t and you get the same amount. For e.g. if you company pays you $500 less, SAF will pay you $500 to ensure you do not suffer loss of civilian pay.
But instead of saying your make up pay is $500, they will pro-rate your last drawn rank allowance first and say for e.g. your service pay is $100 and your make up pay is $400.
So you happily think you got MUP and service pay but in actual fact it adds up to $500 which is basically your loss of civilian pay.
The only time you REALLY get service pay is when you are not working. Like during my first ICT I was still studying and no civilian pay so they gave me pro-rated last drawn rank allowance so it was really money from SAF.
Other than that you don't get a cent from SAF 'cos this is supposed to be "service to your nation". Only extra you get is stuff like hazard allowance for the EOD ppl or Key Appointment Holder allowance.

This.
In short,
Company claim = u'll do nothing & get salary paid by company as per norm.
Company no claim, u self claim = u'll be paid rank allowance + (salary makeup - rank allowance)
No company/self-claim ie. not working = u'll be paid rank allowance.
Your PS-es & PCs are not considered Key-Appointment Holders.
Only CSMs, OCs & PSOs are KAHs and receive extra pay.. cos more sai kang mah. PC and PS role simple mah.. PC bring kids out for pri-sch outing & PS take attendance.
I like how going in ict don't have to use too much brain...compared to the stress at work.
Different case for different ppl ma.
You promote while I am cpl (armored infantry). Go in ict follow instructions. Unless you mean training then yes sometimes still xiong because getting older and still need outfield all those shyt.
However mentally , ict more relax. Timing all given, what to do etc all have instructions. If nth do , lunch liao go back bunk sleep (example). While working outside as a programmer (my profession) have to think of ways to do stuff with the program , have to plan, sometimes encounter difficult problems that needs few days to solve...etc
Having said that, I still prefer the outside life. However for the once per year ICT I find that it is really not that bad to get away from work.
Being together with the same platoon mates are a bonus can talk cock like in the old days while still nsf.
some ppl work more stress free than icttotally agree with you,
ICT is totally can relax my brain, no stress,, break from work!!!
Working is damn sian/stress.....
