1st one should be NTFS.

File system depends on the usage required:
Win OS: NTFS
External HDD: FAT32 or exFAT
files saved on main hdd NTFS later transfer to exFAT external HDD is it ok?

But do take note FAT32 limitation to 4GB file size if you intend to store mkv file larger than 4GB.

i read abt that limitation, think ive experienced it before too.

don't understand why fat32 still exists if it has such a big limitation, shouldn't there just be exFAT and NTFS thats all?

It's an older standard as it is introduced since Windows 95 OSR

main reason why it still exist is for compatibility with various legacy devices since it is widely adopted

If using it for android tablets exfat or FAT32 might be a better choice , NTSC for windows devices.

Rooted android can read all file formats .
