NTU Linguistics 2013

Hi, has anyone applied for ntu linguistics and has received any sort of call or email informing you of interviews and whatnot?

Getting rather worried here as I have received absolutely no news from ntu at all.

i'm in your shoe. we didn't make it for the interview. the period for it is over. you are from poly or jc? mind sharing your grade profile?

I'm from JC and oh man that news is expected but so sucky to receive.
My grade profile isn't good; BBC/D, what about you?

You have friends who have gone for the interview? Mind sharing the number? I received missed calls from this number when I was overseas and didn't manage to call them back. Major paranoia acting up man. D:

hmm you're pretty close based on last year 10th percentile which is BBC/C, maybe is because of your GP? from what i know, they did emphasize good grades for GP.

i don't think i am anywhere close enough to deserve the "limited space" for linguistics, my gpa 3.59. well the reason i know was because i personally contacted the profs like 3 weeks back? and she did mentioned that if by then i wasn't called means i didn't make it to the shortlist.

did you consider other course options for backup?

Yeah, I got a C for GP, which I've been so bitter about because it's actually my favourite subject. Haha, how sad.

3.59 isn't that bad, is it? It's not fantastic but it's not bad either!

well i believe for the very limited poly intake into linguistics and no grade profile available for us, they definitely have stringent grade requirement on us. I was just trying my luck. Sad but yea the truth, is absolute 0% chance for us. If you're really passionate about this course, you may get ready to send in appeal letter.

sighh, so far no news from the rest yet also, less SMU ISM. I'm still pinning my hope against hope on NTU physics/applied physics.
