Nobody knows the answer. If u don't apply, u will never know. Beside academic qualification, u will also need to sit for an entrance test and interview.

I dont think MSc InfoSys is limited to librarians. It is a vast domain. If you go through the curriculum it does have topics on most important fields in data management. And I think you can select the track you wish. There are fields like Data Mining, Data Warehousing and Business Data Analytics which comes under Information Systems. :-D. It is a mixture of technology & business..\m/

You have misunderstood Alex. He was referring to Information "Studies" not Information "Systems".

There are greater career opportunities for Information Systems graduates than Information Studies graduates. Many of my friends from Information Systems are either teaching in local polytechnics or holding management positions in major IT companies and stat boards.

As for Information Studies graduates, their forte are in library and information science. Naturally, they will look for jobs in the libraries.

Good luck :)

Still confused. -_-. Course description of InfoStudies says

The MSc in Information Studies programme is a multidisciplinary programme that draws on the disciplines of:

• Library and Information Science
• Management and
• Information Technology.

and few of the the MSc KM topics are under InfoStudies department. :s11:

Dear Forumers,

For your info, pls.

Upon request, this thread has been renamed "NTU MSc Interview & Written Test?" (i.e. without the IS portion), to better reflect it's more general nature.

Thanks everyone for the answer, especially syeechee for the clarification: that's exactly what I mean.

I am just wondering, if I get into the Info Studies, is there any chance can "swap/exchange/change" to MSc Info Systems? by taking some more modules?

I know there are ppl who managed to switch from PT to FT. Don't think u can switch between courses as it will affect the cohort size and jeopardize their teaching plans.

According to WKW Facebook page, there will be no interview for Info Sys and Mass Comm this year. U will be shortlisted sorely based on academic results and work experience. U should hear from the school sometime in May.
