i am interested to apply for this programme next window ... just wundering for a parttime study, what would the schedule be like? 7-10pm 3 times a week or saturday full time 9-5?

Also, for the modules that needs to be taken, would be group work or individual work?

I will be going for a 2-week ICT during which I will miss 2 lessons. Is attendance taken? How do I apply for LOA from the uni? Tks

Just let the lecturers know. Should not have much impact unless you have presentation or something, then you just have to reschedule or the lecturer will advise you more.

actually i have to worry abt it, cos i got a CITPM prep-course workshop on that day at NUS-ISS from 9am-6pm...major screwup on timing so i'm checking out which one i should go... or maybe should try out your way, go CITPM in the morning and pro seminar in afternoon...

Hi,

If they did not change the system. it might be possible to skip it BUT you have to:

- inform the lecturer in advance
- there will be recorded seminars, you will go through them and submit a reflection report

This prof seminar is once a month so you can plan ahead. Hope this helps.

Actually I'm aware of this link, just that i'm not sure what are the courses the school has registered for me. I went to the Graduate Course Registration System to view, but i got a "None" for Course(s) registered for Semester 1... so i'm checking who else is in the same situation as me

I took a look of KM schedule and I notice that the foundation subjects have very little takers. This is similar for your program. This means the school has not register for the student yet. So you may just call them up to see what core subjects you will be taking in the coming sem.

Information for specific groups of students:
- Information Systems part-time student: you're automatically registered for Professional Seminar -- do not drop this course. You need to select 2 Foundation Courses.

*Course Registration – Aug 31 (1100hrs) to Sep 9 (2359hrs), 2010*
The university observes this deadline very strictly -- Sep 9, 11:59pm, is the absolute deadline to register for courses. You have to register for courses in the online Course Registration System: http://www.ntu.edu.sg/Services/Academic/graduates/courseregistration/Pages/Default.aspx

anybody here taking MSc. KM?

@snoozex: for KM courses, do you have to buy a lot of reference book? or we can just borrow it from the library?
and.. about my last questions of taking what classes, according to your experiences, should I take all of group A selectives, or change one for group B?

I am currently in KM program. Completed all my coursework now "stuck" with dissertation.

CI is a mini-project. An ex-classmate jokingly told me this, CI is about 1/9 effort compared to dissertation. The reasons are as follow:

Up to 3 ppl for a CI compared to individual for dissertation
CI is typically 6k words compared to about 15k for dissertation. CI is like a term paper with more depth.

Usually for CI, there will be a list of topics proposed by lecturers. Usually ppl will choose the topic/lecturer and "chop" the lecturer. Some teams, however, propose topics to lecturers. If lecturer likes the topic, he/she may take the project up. Very similar for dissertation except that students who take this route, usually propose their own topic. We will find a lecturer whom we can make use of his/her expertise.

Hmmm, for reference books, I think depends on yrself. For some friends, they couldnt be bothered and they pass anyway. Usually, one text or more per course OR a collection of journal articles. It depends on the lecturer. I know of some lecturers, no text and it is up to you. I took two courses under this lecturer, he only use powerpoint slides. In another, no text required but a lot of hand on practices and assignment. In short, it depends on the lecturer and the subject nature.

I took 2 group A - (1) KM Strategies and (2) Information and Knowledge Assets. The first one has just changed the lecturer so nothing I can comment but you can pm me for my opinion. The second one is a superb subject if you want to experience a more philosophical approach to what is knowledge (plus the lecturer is really good).

Ask around and you will know wat are the subjects worth taking.
