I regret to say that we have already sent out all interview notifications. If you have not already received an interview notification, it is unlikely that you can proceed to the next stage. You should be able to check your final status by end May 2012 via the online system.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Well, I don't think that not getting a call for interview necessarily means it is a reject. :s11:
That is quite a strange reply though. Normally, they would send a generic reply as they are still not over with the selection procedure.

It says March in their Facebook Page. I quote...

There are some very strong candidates who may have been recommended to be accepted directly into the MSc programme without an interview. We will progressively notify these applicants throughout March via email. Hence, if you do not receive an interview invitation, you may have been recommended for a direct offer.

I was going to post the link but forum admin didn't allow me to.

Re: Direct Admission results by March

I din't get the call for interview either. I think the page only said that those who do not get a call for the interview might have been offered direct admission. I don't think it was mentioned that their result would be out within March.
If I'm incorrect, could you plz give the link where you saw this information? Thanks.

I have applied to full-time Info Systems and Info Studies.

As Amanda1116 said, It is mentioned in their Facebook page.
If you are getting any news about this, please share.

Anybody inquired about this March thing? Or got any direct offer? Could that be a typo? Please share if you have any update.

From reading through this whole thread, the interview seems to be based on what you have written on the written test and there is no specific duration for the interview. From experience in university application interviews, the longer you are in the interview, the more likely you will get accepted because the interviewer finds you unique, interesting and able to communicate very well. And it is an individual interview.

Keep your mind clear, be yourself and good luck!

@Everyone else
All shortlisted applicants or direct offered applicants should already be notified. If you didn't hear anything from them by now then you are not in that group but still don't lose hope, if your application status still says "Application under process" then there is still a chance to be in the reserve list or secondary shortlist (if NTU didn't find many good candidates in the primary shortlist applicants)

Hope your information is correct. This means that it is very likely that I have not been selected. :(
At least I can make up my mind now. :)

If you are coming in at 9:30am, I presume you should be either in Session 1 or 2 ?

Individual Interview. Usually not more than 15 mins. I mean for my case, it was < 15 mins. Actually, on the spot, you'll know whether you're in or out ....:s13: If the faculty likes what you said during the interview, he'll have already confirmed you on the spot. =:p

I've heard even cases like the prof asking "So which course would you like?" :s13:

So does Session 1 or 2 means anything or just sessions?

I also inquired about this questioning about the direct offer notifications by March ? I got the same reply you got.

Hello,

I've applied for the M.Sc. Information Systems (FT) as an international student and was invited to do an written test by E-Mail last Thursday. However, my online application status still says "Application under review". So far, I haven't gotten any feedback from NTU, neither regarding the outcome of this written test nor another invitation for an interview. I guess I just have to be patient and keep my fingers crossed. :)

it didnt mention which session I am in inside the email, i guess it doesnt matter.

Any idea what kinda questions I will expect?
And what kind of answers do you think the interviewer wans to hear?

for eg. in job interviews, they want to see how much you can contribute to the company? But for university interviews... what are they looking for?

Hey Sambosoul,

I'm also an international applicant for the MSc Info Sys (FT) and also did the written test on Thursday. We will still need to wait for all of the shortlisters to go through their interview/test (which ends at the end of March) for us to get any results/feedback from NTU because the thing is, even if we answered the test properly, we are still going to be compared with the other shortlisters and NTU would only take the best ones. And looking at last year's posts, the results for this will be out sometime in the mid April, so no need to worry about it now, worry about it in in 2 weeks time :)

Wow congrats Nealwi! Seems like you have moved on to the next stage very quickly! Very happy for you :)

Curious now if the phone interview is only for Information Studies where it is more about communication skills or it is also for Information Systems. Is anyone applying for Info Sys get an email about a phone interview?

But anyway, to answer your question Nealwi, everyone would get different questions in the interview depending on your answers to these 3 most common questions:

- Tell me about yourself (to get to know more about you, your background and your past to see if you have the right qualification and mindset for the course)
- Why have you chosen to take [enter your chosen degree here]? (to get to know your current thoughts to see if this course is the right path for you, they might recommend you to take a different path)
- What is your future ambition (to get to know how would you use what you could have learned in the course for your plans for the future and if you would actually need this course to get to where you want to be)

Good luck!
