I received an e-mail from NTU informing me that I have been shortlisted to attend an interview through the Non-Academic Achievements section on the 28 March 2009. Could somebody shed some light and tips? :D

I was from Nanyang Polytechnic, GPA 3.24, SAT combined score 2070. Applied for Economics, but they didn't state what the interview was for. I won a few national video competition and some were aired on national TV.

I called in to check. It's a personal interview. By the way what are your non-academic achievement and your grades?

is it a must to submit the appraisal form for this non-academic achievements section?

NTU's non academic achievement quite difficult to write and they are quite strict

They are looking for national level of achievement...

Like mine.. my non academic achievement is at school level (School club management, etc) but I can't find a suitable field to enter.

I went for the interview...it was pretty long, about 20 minutes or more.
basically they ask you to introduce yourself first and your achievements.
your leadership qualities, what was the hardest thing you encountered as a leader
why did you choose this course in NTU... as for me, they asked "Why did you only put one choice in NTU" which is wkwsci mass comm... i told them bluntly, if u dun gimme the course i'll go elsewhere lo, that's the only course i want to do.
have you been to NTU, do you know about the CCAs here. what do you intend to do/join.

a lot a lot lah, it was quite a tough interview i'd say. grilled... but i got in so heck

was it this year's interview that you got into?

and you said you got in. you mean they offered you on-the-spot?

anyway, who was there for the 0930H period?

Okay I just went for the interview. Results will be out May. I am not sure if they will offer you on-the-spot but if they did, I never got mine anyway. The interview had 2 profs and one guy from the admissions. Depending on your selected course, you will be asked to go to different rooms for a set of different interviewers. I got room 3, and I applied for Economics. Anyway it was a long interview, about 20-25 minutes. They asked questions about my non-acad achivement which was about a few national competitions I won. I topped my non-acad chievement with my own works from other non-acad areas to prove why I was a good candidate for Economics. They did not ask me questions like why I like NTU or why should NTU choose me. I was talking about my non-acad achivements throughout and mostly that was just it. Even though it was 20-25, I must say the interview was still quite rushed; they would stop me in the middle and ask me to move on to other non-acad achivements - especially those they I wrote about in the online application. Hope this helps.

i went for the interview yesterday too(28/3/09) at 930.
hmm for me the interview was freaking short.
i think like 5-10 mins finish le.
btw i applied for econs too.
in my room(room 3) were 4 people + me.
i was only interviewed by the 3 of them and the 4th person i think was from admin.

hmm the questions they asked mainly revolved around my non- academic achievements(NAA).
i thought the interview was rather okay. not that many hard questions.

they did ask qns like what was ur greatest achivement, what was the most memorable competition.

they also ask questions like why did u pick this course. how does ur NAA contribute to ur course,
how will u use ur NAA to contribute to the school.

hmm got quite a few others also like "tell me more bout urself"

hmm that day i wore formal, but without tie.

btw my gpa quite low, 3.34 for 1st 5 sems.
my non-academic was fencing
