NTU or NUS business?

Sorry, this thread may be brought up many times already but I have look through the threads and cant really make a decision because some of the posts are outdated and i am just so fickle minded!!=( I know the 3 year direct honours is very tempting given that only 30-40%? of Nus biz get to study the fourth years though it wont be that easy to get into the third yr for NTU as well.I will like to go for exchange programmes in the US and UK and will like to know which school offer more opportunities and support?(I am abit tight budget><)I also like to know more about the uni life there which will ultimately be the highest priority in my decision making.It is a pity I am unable to visit the schools for tea sessions or open house due to my work=( I will like to have a fun uni life that is just not only about academics!!I like to join K-pop dance if there is as well!!Reviews from current NTU or NUS undergrads or grads will be greatly appreciated!!Cheers!

Everyone in NTU Biz will study for the same 3 years. At the end of it, your honours class is determined by your GPA.

Roughly the same % of students in both schs will graduate with First Class, Second Upper, Second Lower etc

I recommend NTU biz. NUS has a better brand name overall but business school wise, NTU is better regarded.

also NTU hall life is more vibrant than NUS imo.

Yes, you won't get honors unless you're a top performer in the school.

Direct honors doesn't mean you are guaranteed honors. It means you are directly considered for honors.

About 33 - 40% of NUS students get to do the fourth year and get honors.

Likewise, the top 33 - 40% of NTU students will get honors. The rest will get Pass with Merit, or worst, just a Pass degree.

Hahas.Hmm..Then the diff between the two unis will be that ntu biz is more specialised with fewer modules while nus biz is more general with more modules and an extra yr for honour?In terms of exchange trips and the culture there, which one is more favourable? Thanks

More or less correct. If you look at NUS Business 4 years curriculum for honors, 52 out of 160 MCs (1 sem = 20) of modules is from University level requirements, or unrestricted elective modules.

The good news is, most BBA students make use of the Unrestricted Electives to pursue a Second Specialization, instead of venturing into chartered waters by taking modules from other faculties.

For Student Exchange Programme, NUS have more partner universities, and a larger % of it's cohort get the opportunity to go.

For Business, your overseas opportunity is pretty much limited to the Student Exchange Programme. (Possible to spend up to 2 semesters if you do wise module planning)

Other courses like Geography / History got all sorts of overseas field trips.

What do you mean by "favourable culture" ? Both have the "mug-till-you-die", super competitive stay-wary-of-backstabbers culture.

If by culture you meant % of foreign students, Err... You know, I know.

Hahas.But I heard that NUS very competitive in terms of internships and exchange programmes in terms of students having to be all-rounded to compete for the limited slots although there are many partner universities.><
Hehs..I want a more "fun and friendly" culture in terms of not just study hard all day similar to NJC culture and will like to make more friends and enjoy!!^^
