Mac book works fine. Never get laptop from the ntu sales, you can get better laptop elsewhere. If you want to get a cheap windows laptop, I suggest you wait until September for the it show.

VGA.

If you're getting a macbook I highly recommend getting the VGA adapter.

@kennethtbh @Enerrior Why not get from NTU? I was planning to pre-order the newer macbook pro 15" with retina this week (old version sales was apparently suspended, SG no new stock yet??). I thought there's the 3 year warranty that requires add. money outside? I think if macbook spoil and buy from outside must go queue ourself right? Not too sure if NTU is supposed to fix for us so we don't have to travel to service center or something.

Someone enlighten me~~ :s12:

Well for Macbook I guess it will be no difference. IT show will give you some freebies even though there's no discount for macbooks. My friends actually ordered it online because of the student discount thingy and it gets delivered to your house! So there's a lot of ways to get a Macbook outside. For me, I would rather trust Apple to fix it for me than to get some service staff from NTU to fix it. Your warranty might get void (not sure how true is this though).

Is NTU still using VGA for their projectors? The previous answer was 3 years ago so I'm wondering if anything has changed. I just bought a Dell laptop with a HDMI port but no VGA port. Thinking if I should get the adapter in case for presentations. Freshie here :)

From my experience so far, all tutorial rooms I have been to have hdmi ports and vga + 3.5mm audio ports. I remember seeing Apple adaptors provided in classrooms @ the Hive too though I can't remember exactly what it is (could be thunderbolt display port).
