Accepted an offer to read Communication Studies with a second major in Business @ NTU's WKWSCI, a new programme.
I have a few questions though.
1. What's the difference between marketing and PR? Is marketing a subset of PR?
2. Why should one read communication studies? Is it useful? Can one get a stable career?
3. Since I'm taking a second major too, I believe my extra modules will have to be completed during the holidays. Does this mean my options for overseas exchange programme will be more limited?
4. My dentist told me that most social science/arts/general degrees are not useful because one can just buy a book on any subject, say history or geography, from Kinokuniya and read up on it. Is it true? Can someone argue against it because I kinda think it's true too but I choose not to believe in it still!!!!
