Sorry if it’s a dumb question but Why do these companies can launch these policies and still guarantee capital in 3 years? How do they know they will definitely earn?

As a Company, I launched an endowment at 2.3%, also cheaper than a bank loan which I need to repay.

Does this answer your question?

Is there a yearly premium that needs to be paid by the applicant for this NTUC 2.3% plan?

Can someone explain in detail how does this NTUC 2.3% plan works?!

Currently I just put all my money in Singapore Savings Bond, Fixed Deposits and some stocks only.

Its a single premium and wait for 3 years. Simple and not complicated l.

If an insurance company that has been in the business for some time is unable to generate a ROI of more than 2.3%, it would have gone bankrupt long ago. :s13:

ordinarily, there would be no reason to talk about this policy since the HSBC 2.5% is still available, but it seems that nobody has actually reported being issued their policy yet.... I'm still waiting for mine...

Not really. What does your phrasing even mean?

It just means there may be some payments that is required by the insurance company. So they use this 3 year endowment to partially fund it for repayment etc. Or to store as some form of warchest.

Cause now is a good time for them to have money to play with shares.

Capital not guaranteed if you can't commit 3 years lock-in period. It's the opportunity to earn profit for insurance company oso.

example, 1st year withdrawal they return your capital 90%, 2nd year 95%
