ubia already grabbed our attention this year with the launch of the Z11 Min and Max, but today they go flagship hunting with the borderless Z11 with Snapdragon 820 chipset.

While some smartphone makers have separated beauty and power, Nubia have combined the two with the Z11 which sports an elegant metal body, borderless design and the power to go gaming with a Snapdragon 820.



With the chipset running at 2.15Ghz, Nubia haven’t wanted to bottle neck all that power with a tiny amount of RAM so have released a highend model with 6GB RAM (128GB memory) and a more affordable version with 4GB RAM (64GB) memory.

Should that on board storage prove insufficient for your media needs then don’t worry as the Z11 will also accept SD cards, and yes there are dual SIM trays too.

The borderless display is going to be a major selling point of the Z11, but it is interesting to see ZTE haven’t been lured in the QHD race, and a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 panel has been specced instead. This lower res screen is good news conceding the slender phone has ‘just’ a 3000mAh battery.

Camera specs include a 16 mega-pixel Sony IMX298 rear sensor with OIS, F2.0 aperture and PDAF, while the front camera is an 8 mega-pixel sensor with F2.4 aperture and 80 degree wide angle.

Other features include a rear fingerprint scanner with a claimed unlock speed of 0.1 seconds, fast charging and edge gestures.

Pricing is rather good too with the 4GB RAM model weighing in at 2499 Yuan and the 6GB RAM model up at 3499 Yuan.

Any of the 2 slots can be selected for 4G. When one slot is 4G, the other slot will be 3G/2G.

OS support would be minimum. Unless someone at XDA decides to further develop.

This phone looks not bad, it has checked all my requirements such as NFC, Quick Charge 3.0, hi-fi sound chip, Infrared red sensor and dual sim 3g standby. It's so difficult to find a phone that put all these features together. I have previously used Nubia Z7max for quite sometime which I find pretty good. At 2499rmb, the pricing is reasonable. I will consider Nubia Z11 for my next phone. As a Mi note user.. I'm still waiting for Mi Note 2 announcement.

This phone probably has the best design for this years round of flagships (personally a sucker for thin bezels). Another selling point of Nubia phones is the split screen feature where you can literally run any 2 apps side by side. Though this functionality will come to light to future devices with Android N. Can consider...
