Moving data from iMac to new MBP. How to go about doing it? Some say just restore TM backup some say cannot. TM backup can or cannot? My iMac on 10.7.2 at the moment. Thanks.

Yes you can use your TM backup, I'm assuming your new MacBook Pro is on Lion as well.
