Hi!
I have kinda asked around regarding the general prospects between Computer Science and Information Systems and the suitability of the course for me. I am currently an offer holder for Information Systems.
It seems that the general consensus is this: Singaporeans would tell me to do IS, because it is relevant to industry and some might say that there are less FTs in the whole programme. Westerners tend to lean towards Computer Science, as it is more of a catch all (well, not really), the depth learnt is much valuable than the Biz stuff (Supply Chain, etc) and IS jobs can be done by those with CS degress. I know for a fact that IS and CS are totally different, I have checked the Year 3-4 modules for NUS, the IS coded ones are wayyyy different from CS coded ones. But the thing is, both IS and CS modules interest me for some odd reason.
Now, I am confident in my Mathematical capabilities and I am aiming for a rojak career path (both CS and IS concepts combined). However, I am bad at presentations and when I went for the Cambridge interview, I flunked their simple logic/problem solving question (I could nearly solve it, but did not). I'm worried that Cambridge might be right that CS is not for me, since they rejected me in the end. Hence, I would like to know if CS is better for me or should I stick to IS?
