Lol what's there to be proud about for choosing one dumping ground over the other dumping ground courses? Trust me, if given a choice i bet at least 80% of the RE students would want to enter biz

Yes i agreed. I know of a friend who was graduated from RE with RE finance working for jp morgan drawing a mthly salary of 5 fig after 2 yrs. Some working for gov depts like ura, hdb, jtc, mnd.. Career prospects are good!

Wow, how could you say that Engineering courses are also dumping ground. That's very arrogant of you, how can you despise on other courses which require lower grades? I believe that every course has its own strengths.

Even if you went into NBS, so what? You are competing with very intelligent students out there, and if you cannot beat them in academic grades, you will lose out big time. Ultimately, is the end results that matters, passion for the course that matters. If you get into popular courses, such as NBS, NUS Biz, but end up being last few in the cohort, you are much worse off than a student who studied in a less popular and competitive course and scored better grades.

There are also many good enginneeing courses out there that requires same grades as biz. (Aersopance,Renaissance, Chem, etc). Stop being snobbish, and looking down on courses that has lower grade requirements than your own course.

To add on, your promotions in your future career largely depends on your job performance and your academic portfolio, not really the type of course you went to previously.

Oh one of the main differences btwn the 2 courses is real estate agts learn a lots of stuff within a mth where real estate grads need 4 yrs to get an hons deg. Those agts are damn smart right hahaha

Fyi real estate agts juz needs 4 'O's & pass the required real estate salesperson exam governed by CEA..

tbh RE isnt a dumping ground. It is less popular yes but its only like 30 - 40% finance. The other 60 - 70% you learn industry related stuff. And mind you, there so much more if you think RE means study to be real estate agent. The career prospects are quite good as the degree is pretty versatile (With that being said however, you still must do well within the cohort haha)

I think the weightage for RE finance will be as high as 40-50% for those who choose to incl specialization in RE finance from year 3. Really hope i can be qualified for this specialization but i will need to do well in finance related modules for the first 2 years!

Your dear fellow dumping ground friend mentioned that he chose his RE course over other engine courses, obviously his grades sucked and he probably could have only entered triple e or mech engine in ntu.
