TS I'd go with NUS if i were u, better accommodation, spacious uni, more recognized branding, etc nonetheless do ur own research and go with whatever that caters to you more, they are both great unis

I have a friend who chose NUS IS instead due to providing a strong, concrete
foundation in technology.
Tbh, no point arguing here. All depends on what you are looking for from these Unis.

Does SMU IS not provide a strong, concrete foundation in programming/technology? Just curious but looking at some of the modules I do feel that SMU students will lose out in terms of technical skills from the curriculum (gotta self learn more to catch up).

SMU places equal emphasis on Biz and IT! If you’re looking for very very technical super concrete foundation, then NUS IS would be ideal! Some of their mods in NUS, overlaps with com science. If you’re looking at areas, like, using IT as a form of solution to solve business issue etc, hybrid of biz and IT, SMU would be around at this area. NUS provides depth, while SMU is alittle shallow
