So I'm v bored. Let's have a competition. Everyday before kickoff we predict the scores and results for each match.

We play in league format.
Predict correct result - 2 points
Predict correct score - multiply by 2 points

Tips for GER vs POR
This will be GER's 100th match in World Cup. In the 2014 European World Cup qualifiers stage, GER was the highest-scoring team. POR is too reliant on Ronaldo and Ronaldo might not be 100% fit. I won't be surprised if GER vs POR ends up a high-scoring match (AOS). But at the same time, I don't think we will see a repeat of what happened in SPA vs HOL tonight.


Tips for IRA vs NGR
Don't expect to see too many goals in this match. I don't see Iran letting in any goals tonight as they are defensively very solid (conceded only 5 goals in 10 Qualifying matches). Nigeria to let in a set-piece goal.


Tips for GHN vs USA
0-0 at half-time. Pundits will be criticizing Klinsmann and his boys during the half-time analysis. The match will reach its climax in the second-half with a Hollywood goal.

my analysis (in my humble opinion)

Germany vs Portugal:

This could easily end up in a high scoring affair, with both teams more known for their offensive prowess than their defensive stability. While I would bet on Germany to beat Portugal simply because of their star studded attack that includes the likes of Ozil, Muller, Gotze, Podolski, Schurrle, Draxler, Klose, don't be surprised if they leak a few goals at the back. If anything, the results in the knockout stages of Euro 2012, World Cup qualifying and recent friendlies shown that Germany isn't exactly stable at the back as it used to be.

Iran vs Nigeria:

Apart from South Korea and Japan, Asian teams don't generally fare well at the World Cup Finals, and I am betting that the trend would continue in this match. Nigeria to edge Iran in a close match.

Ghana vs USA

With Jurgen Klinsmann leaving out Landon Donovan, this edition of USA's World Cup squad is a little short on experience, with Klinsmann planning to use this World Cup as an excellent opportunity to give some of his younger players a taste of the World Cup. I predict Ghana to edge USA out on this one.
