nVidia latest driver killing GPUs?

Yes, it has been reported quite sometime ago. ITs also causing problems with BF3....

So I am avoiding it now. Still sticking to beta 320

Yes. There was a thread a while back here too. I am one of the victim... (or at least suspected to be)

This is the second time nVidia has released a driver that can cause actual hardware damage. One thing about the red camp driver, say what you want, they have never killed a GPU....

wht issue u had with bf3? i got flickering texture in the background but that was fix after an update from bf3.

Indeed, I still recall reading news on the previous incident. I feel the drivers were rushed out with limited testing. From the last incident, I have always been wary of new drivers, WHQL or not. Sometimes its better to wait and see, especially if one is "upgrading" drivers for performance.

AMD has been doing well in this aspect so far, hope they won't commit the same as Nvidia.

Lol.. previously many people have been complaining amd drivers always release too slow and not much performance gain..

If its for a bug that is affecting the user, I can understand the anxiety. But just for mere performance gain, I think its not really worth it. As long as its not broken, no need to rush to change the drivers. ;)

i think that's the reason i have to replace the whole desktop..

luckily i using onboard graphic chip for now...heheq

Using the latest on my card now. GTX670. Playing SC2 no problem. Well...tht is the only game i play anyway. lol.

maybe those games i play and those web surfing and youtube not enuf to tax the gpu....
