NVIDIA “Pascal” GeForce 1000 series arriving at Computex

Taiwanese sources confirm NVIDIA is ready to unveil GeForce 1000 series at Computex, which takes place between May 31st and June 4th In Taipei. Key add-in-board partners will showcase their reference boards at the event, although mass shipment is expected to start in July.

The graphics card players will begin mass shipping their Pascal graphics cards in July and they expect the new-generation graphics card to increase their shipments and profits in the third quarter, the sources noted – DigiTimes

It is believed that NVIDIA is already clearing their GeForce 900 inventory to prepare for next-generation Pascal products. GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 will most likely replace GM204-based cards in NVIDIA’s portfolio, however new cards are expected to deliver comparable, if not better, performance to existing GM200 cards.

It appears that both key players in graphics industry will have their new architectures ready in the coming months. The battle between AMD’s 14nm and NVIDIA’s 16nm chips will definitely bring some interesting results.
