Your 4090 score is 1000 pts lower than mine, I get 23211 with an undervolt on my 4090, without undervolt is 24k. The 5080 maxed out I've seen is 22k-23k, but 4090 maxed online I have seen 25k. Still about 10%-12% behind if both pushed to limit. The VRAM is the real suckerpunch though.
if waterblock 4090 OC, probably even higher.

That's why 4090 and even 4080 still in good demand. Furthermore, they have no technical limitations like 5000 series has with 32-bit physx and 32-bit cuda. They are still top tier GPUs as well whether compared to 5000 series or 7900 xtx or 9070 xt etc.

And, if its a 4080 super, any buyer of a 2nd hand local unit knows that the warranty still active for long long since its only launched Jan 2024.

To be fair it was an old Windows 11 install I had when I was using 7950X3D and just couldn't be bothered to reinstall haha. But yeah I also never OC the 4090 its just running stock.

the few key things are more voltage, possiblly in the 1.5v+ range
more trefi, 32767 or 65535 until waterblocked
lower trfc possibly under 600 at high mhz

the trefi shouldn't impede your ability to scale further with lower trfc
My tREFIis already 262143, tRFC2 is at 765 and tRFCpb is at 624. Anyway tried to go higher, 9000C38 compared to 9000C40 requires 0.07v more and its slower so I probably need to go even higher. 9200C42 boots but crashes in Windows definitely not stable, 9133C40 also slower than 9000C40 again due to voltage issues. I think 9000C40 is sweet spot for me until I understand the platform better.

5080 really can match 4090, the only place it loses is VRAM. They are both done with first page maxed out all settings Ultra, Ray Tracing etc DLSS mode use DLAA.

Both are my own testing, I still have lots more to tune on the 285K its running DDR5 9000 Gear2 with some tight timings but I'm struggling to bring the latency down below 67ns in Aida64. 9800X3D was running 6400C28 PBO+200 -40 all cores.

5070 Ti result with same settings, with high res texture pack on

But people ( excluding scalpers ) are still buying current generation at inflated prices. You know what message it sends to Jensen/Nvidia ? It means they can do whatever they want and their "loyal" customer base will still buy it.
amd no longer competing at the high end sucks for everyone

I didn't buy the game so all I have is the demo benchmark.
icic, i rerun without high res texture packs(both cards with mild overclock), your 5080 perform quite a bit better than mine, is it overclocked by a lot or it just cpu diff? if got good setting can share

anyone lowered power maximum via Nvidia app before? thinking of lowering it to 90% to help reduce the odds of the too much current running though a single cable issue for my 5080.. just not sure if it will cause any stability issues and what kind of performance hit to expect

Just use the 12v2x-6 connector that has the splitter to 3x 8 pin, and connect the 3x 8 pin to each port in your psu, since each port can only pump limited amount of power from psu, it will be useful to ensure that the current is split.

Don't use the cable that has both end 16 pin.

I haven't tuned the 5080 much, I just had +500 on memory and +200 on core. It's a Zotac Solid so it's already a bit OC out of the box.

Curious why you have 5700X3D paired with 5080 and 5800X3D paried with 5070Ti haha.

looks like its from both cpu diff and overclock, if you got 5080 i suggest getting better cpu, u will especially feel the smoothness improvements and significantly reduced microstutter.

Wouldn't the current combine at the GPU end though?

New drivers 572.65 released.. Any one tried it yet?

I am using it because my 4090 was exhibiting weird flickering when DLSS turns on in the 572.60 driver.

Installing the latest driver hotfix driver 572.65 driver had a HARD Black screen lock up my PC like the 572.60 driver, then restart got problem.

So had to DDU to install the hotfix.

After installing, it helps quite a lot but occasional scenes in games using DLSS the skyline/horizon/foliage/Character Hair will still have split second flickering, super bloody distracting. That's when using Latest, Preset K, and Preset J, CNN model below Preset J seems to be okay, but the DLSS presentation looks much blurrier vs Present J or K.

The 5070 will have new drivers, I might install that to see if it improves or worsens the situation. Nvidia with this launch on the driver side has gotten me pretty upset.

Think will be cheaper if purchase full system from them. Stocks are coming in but they are gate keeping it.
