Boring, dropped mine and now got a crack.. still usable but guess need to look for a replacement. I dont think it is worth changing the screen.

Any good budget tablet replacement for reading and series watching? I like the loud front speaker for Nvidia Shield.

Is this a pure stock Android tablet ah? I dun want any bloatware

Factory firmware 99% stock, save for a few Nvidia apps.

Otherwise, flash to lineage os, you can decide the amount of Google bloatware you want.

The only tablet cheap and loud enough should be fire hd tablet. But you will need to know how to self install play store. It's quite easy though.

Slight improvement on battery standby time. Naturally, you lose some of the Nvidia stuff. Ironically, I feel the lineage is less aggressive on doze. Meaning the tablet isn't busy syncing after long period of non usage. On stock, the tablet can be slow to respond upon wake after no Wi-Fi for many days.

Unlikely unless any talented dev rework/re-engineer from Nvidia Shield TV. I'm satisfied with Nougat for this tablet. Nvidia has given more than excellent software support compared to other manufacturers.

Can't believe it, I just got a notification for firmware upgrade on my original Shield tablet 32gb LTE. They are still keeping them up to date. This thing is more than 4 years now.

It's a big one coming in at 700+mb. Wonder what is in it.
