It's inevitable there will be a new model with better innards. So no need to be surprised when it appears, just slightly peeved that new games won't be playable on older hardware - this isn't scalable hardware like the PC.

Sent from Singapore using GAGT

If the 2015 model specs is 8.5 - 9 INCH, QHD DISPLAY, 3-4G RAM, 32G Build in with SD Card storage. Battery min 5000-6000mAH. Chip - SD or Intel
Material wise, i can do with plastic, cos can use tablet cover / case ... (no need metal, glass, etc)
Cost SGD $500-600 for Wifi Only Set.
Confirm Block Blaster

Errrr... SoC changed to SD or Intel ? You do realise the reason why Nvidia started the Shield line of products right ? :-D

With regards to the rest of the specs, I rather Nvidia sort out their battery life issues before moving to QHD. Better have a 8 inch, 1080p tablet which still has juice by evening compared to a QHD, this and that impressive spec that will die by lunch time.

SoC - Nvidia K2 or X1
Display Size - maintain ( because of the front speakers )
Resolution - maintain
Ram - 2 or 3 is fine
16 or 32 with expandable storage is fine
Material - needs better plastics than current gen
Battery - needs major improvement

typo ... my bad ... type too fast , what i wanted to mean , is keep the original chip ... (no SD, Intel or MediaTek) :s13:

i almost bought it myself, but the screen just a little bigger than my 7 inch Nexus II ... wanted something closer to 8.5-9 inch ... so if the 2015 fulfill most of my "dream list" of requirements ... i will pull the trigger :)

Following the instructions from Nvidia's website, I checked and confirmed that my tablet is among the batch affected. Submitted the replacement claim form, now waiting for Nvidia's next move.

Although this was a bad news but I commend Nvidia for being upfront and proactive about the recall.

Suddenly received a lot sale PM on this tablet in the last couple of days...everyone, pls be mindful of the battery batch...especially those getting a 2nd hand one. Now this is gonna be an issue with the RMA recall for consumers here in Singapore. There is literally no support whatsoever here...(correct me if I'm wrong).

Email reply from Nvidia after submitting my claim:

Dear NVIDIA Tablet Customer,

Thank you for submitting a claim to replace your tablet. Your replacement will ship within the next 2-4 weeks.

Please follow the included instructions to replace or dispose of your old tablet.

Please make sure to back up your photos, video and data files, so that you may access them from your replacement tablet.

As a reminder, when you set up your new tablet, your old tablet will be deactivated and no longer function.

Please remove all accessories – cover, SIM card, SD card, etc. – before returning your old tablet.

Thank you for your loyalty and for participating in this recall effort.

Sincerely,
NVIDIA

Do we need to send back our old one before they send us the replacement? Mine is also affected. Bought from Amazon.

When I am doing my RMA, I was told that once I activated my replacement unit, the old one will be deactivated remotely. No mention of sending back.

I think the instructions on how to return/dispose it will be in the package of the replacement.
