The guy reduced 980 Ti clockspeed to compensate for extra shader and TMU, but totally forgot about *** and memory. Lol.

When news of Pascal came out I was expecting IPC to regress a bit to allow for higher clockspeed ala Pentium 4, but the benchmark results came contrary. Looks like this strategy works for embarrassingly parallel workload.

I feel that pascal is just a die shrink maxwell with some tweaks in compute.

so is it true that pascal is the cut down version of Maxwell? but a better version of Maxwell?

But Ngimpdia did what Intel and AMD can't. To pull a revised architecture to boost clock speed and performance while keeping it not power hungry.

Don't feel it is a good comparison given how the cards compared have different amount of CUDA cores, TMU and ROPs.

Too bad none of the Maxwell and Pascals cards released till date have something equal...

The closest would be GTX 980 vs GTX 1070.
