If I install a Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN550 NVMe Internal SSD - Gen3 x4 onto to Asus B550 tuf gaming motherboard does it disable any of the SATA ports? Cannot find in the manual that it does but just want to check as this happens when installed on some motherboards.

SATA port 5 & 6 is disabled when second M.2_2 slot is occupied. No need worry if you are using the NVMe on the first M.2_1 slot.

Do not use the 2nd M.2 slot thats shared with SATA. This is because its using the PCIE from the chipset. Your nvme drive will face bottleneck as bandwidth is shared with many devices.

I use a gigabyte board with 2 nvme and 6 SATA. Each nvme disables 2 SATA, so if u use 2 nvme u have 2 SATA left
