NVME Storage purchase advice

Hi all,

I am getting a new pcie 4.0 ssd for my personal raspberry pi 5 setup and nvme 3.0 drive also very hard to get now. I am looking at either

Samsung 990 pro 1 TB (150 on lazada)
or
SK hynix platinum p41 1 TB (125 on lazada)

I have the following questions

Samsung seems to have firmware issue with 980 and 990pro where ssd fails prematurely. Is it still an issue in 2025?

In the meantime, I believed there is new firmware for sk hynix p41 to address low write speed due to slc cache not clearing.

Samsung SSD rma is done at plaza singapura while sk hynix waaranty is fulfilled by Corbell. Which of the rma service is better?

basically u beo lazarda/shopee most of them are physical shops/businesses one
shopee/lazarda charges a % for everything they sell thru their platform

1) This PI uses Gen 3 or Gen 4?
If you scare got issue:
Gen 3 SSD Samsung 980 (Non-pro)
Gen 4 Lexar NM790

Samsung SSD RMA if I not wrong not is through distro cuz they switch distro.
Lexar is at Chai Chai side so really depend on the setup PCIE Requirement.
If it doesn't support PCIE Gen4 you won't tap on the SSD full speed of up to 7000mb/s.

If I am not wrong this PI should be Gen 2 only so Gen 3 SSD will suit nicely.
But choices are limited with Samsung 980, Lexar NM620 the cheaper one.
