NYP or TP cybersecurity course

Hi,
My girl is interested in cybersecurity & digital forensic course offered by TP & NYP but she couldn’t decide which of the 2 poly to pick. TP is nearer to where we stay, NYP seems to have more comprehensive modules looking at their course info but abt 1hr travel time.

Are there any graduates from the 2 polys here who are able to share learning experiences? What are the strengths/weaknesses of the 2 polys in regards to their respective cyber courses.

Also appreciates anyone currently working or had worked in the cyber industry able to share your experience e.g. what to expect for a fresh grad in terms of career path.

To be honest, i think they are the same, no company will look at a poly cyber diploma, even degree in cyber is not a must but good to have in order to enter management role.

Most of them look for industry certification or if you have some GitHub to show case your technical skill or did you win any CTF / bug bounty sort of exp.

if your daughters is more into those non technical role, than her talking to client skill and writing skill need to be good lor.

I would recommend the poly that is nearer to your place. Personally I don't think curriculum is a big deal as at the end of the day, it's just a local polytechnic diploma. What is more important is for your daughter to go beyond the school curriculum by getting her hands dirty with with industry related activities. Examples could be what the previous post has mentioned. Though do note that there are many of low value opportunities like volunteering at conferences with some networking (20), but the focus should be building up one's skillsets (80).

The choice of poly is not impt since NYP and TP are both well regarded. If you want to nitpick, NYP has traditionally been better known for its IT courses.

If the end goal for your child is to enter uni, the most impt factors right now are the distance from school and the eventual GPA score in poly.

I'm working in cybersecurity so feel free to ask any questions (though my path was slightly different - JC => Uni).
