OBU without the display unit installation

With a heavy heart, I went to install the OBU without the display console two days before the free installation period expired.

The OBU that was allocated for my EV type provided a convenient intermediate connector to link with the display unit. The installer was friendly and kind enough to hide the excess harness length and leave the interface connector outside for future use.

Now, I have the option to place the display unit anywhere I like or continue not to use the display at all.

Questions

1. Do you just live with the setup without adding a companion phone app.

2. Which phone app has a better user experience among ERP 2.0, Breeze, Galactica, and Motorist.

Yesterday, I tried to set up the companion app and found that pulling out the cash card and using the NETS app to check the cash card balance is faster than completing the Bluetooth connection,a bit sarcastic ?

1. Yes, don't see a need to, NETS app can scan the motoring card and top up, list history, balance.

2. Never used any, never linked any apart from entering my BT mac address on 1Motoring site on my last car which also didn't install screen.

Current cat also no install the screen. Didn't link anything. Been surviving on the NETS app all the while. Ease of use and convenient. The apps are like waste time.

Just remember safekeep the screen, cos sell car that time need to give along with the car.

This is exactly the same for all vehicles , you did not get any special unit or service.

Yes, all units the display cable interconnects at the middle of the cable and this interconnect can be found stuffed at below the steering column area.

All cars are the same unit , same installation .

The point of the bluetooth apps, is NOT for use on the phone. They are meant to use during traffic light waiting, tap on CARPLAY app to see balance. This save more time then reach pull out card. And no time wasted waiting for loading as you are waiting for lights anyway.

Thanks for sharing, will monitor for a while more before I store that display unit home safely.

The OBU sensitively seems lower than the old IU.
Life move on..

Dragging my feet for more than a year, avoid changing to this ERP 2.0 stuff.
