I counted 1500. Do u mean bonus saver instead of esaver?

Unless the spending are necessary, if not u lose more than the interest u earn but I'm sure u r aware of that. Agree it is painful to plan spending that way.

you are right, it is bonus saver.

In other words, you have been suckered into spending on your credit cards. I have 1 ocbc360, ocbc one bonus+, 1 dbs multi-currency and 1 posb. I don't even bother to play the game until shift here and shift there each month.

sad to disappoint you. i mentioned that i have to work hard to achieve the spending requirement, not spend hard. i have not been suckered into spending unnecessarily.

well, sorry to disappoint you as well, i do have ocbc bonus+ and accounts in other banks as well. but those accounts do not require a min spending so i dont bother to mention.

Hi OCBC, can you give me some insights into why is the salary credit only for $2,000 and above? I've also noticed that other banks with similar products also have a salary credit limit of $2,000. I'm wondering if that is some kind of a stipulation by MAS. So, what is the implications, I wonder, about people who earn less than $2,000 a month. Do you mean we don't deserve to participate in anything or get any good deals? Is it a matter of 'you die, is your own business.'?

Please OCBC, do enlighten us about whether that magical number ($2,000) came from MAS.

It's their prerogative deal with it.

Instead of taking a few seconds to transfer funds she would rather waste her time whining about things that can't be changed here.

Funds for the new $60,000 limit tranferred at the beginning of the month liao. Now grumbling about other criteria.

Spot on. It is ridiculous to deliberately spend just to get such 'savings'. You are being suckered by the banks and credit card companies.

I guess u can only earn 1.05%, so shld transfer to other banks to earn higher interest rate. Your additional 10k only earns 1% once, hahaha, so dun waste time grumbling, use the time transferring to other banks lah, hahaha

I am back again since you are back again.

You stated earlier that you have ocbc360 and get the salary interest rates, which means you earn more than $2000 -- Good.

No, I'm talking about fluctuating salaries in which you don't always get the salary interest rates. And besides, when I gave the example of $500/mth eligible for cpf COFFERS, I meant that ocbc will should consider that because there are lots of different profiles of people which, btw, many people here didn't realise until I pointed it out. Surely, these people should benefit too, but if it is purely a business decision, then, it might well seem that ocbc is very aware that should they do this, they will have to give out more $$. There are people who have maxed the 360 account - ie, transferred from elsewhere until it hits the max, which now is $60,000. But because are either students / just started working / working part-time / semi-retired and working part-time / on contract / independent contractor that may not be able to get other clients to code the payment in the way ocbc wants --- all these cannot get the extra bonus interest? Then say that they are too stingy to give it, then.

However, serves them right if one day, the rivals start doing this. But then again.....That's why in my very first post, I had asked if it was MAS that stipulated this. Because you know why? The Sg govt always don't want you (the citizens) to be independent, (despite what they always touted as 'resilience'), and to be able to ease up a little, for a few hundreds more. Simply becasue they don't want a population who has too much time to sit around and think.

Now, since you are fighting so much for the sub $2000 salary - Lets, be frank about it: to whom do you fighting this 'losing battle' that people start to ridicule you for: your uncle, aunt, cousin, etc?

I don't understand this question. What has 'uncle, aunt, cousin' got to do with this?

Or the ultimate leak from your statement: you have multiple jobs and that extra job earn you less than $2000?
I am saying that the one with the salary credit fluctuates. And giving example, of what if there are more than 1 job for people like freelancers and independent contractors who get their salary in cheques? Or for those whose clients don't code it as ocbc wants. There are many types and profiles of people in Sg- not only the typical ones which scholars and the porlumpas for all the taxpayers money that have been spent on them, can only think of.

There we go again. You think we don't know there are people who earn less than 2k in this world? OCBC doesn't care about you and neither does any other bank at the moment. This has nothing to do with the scholars or whoever you think are conspiring against you.

No amount of whining is going to change it. If you have so much issues with their business ethics, take your business elsewhere. Vote with your wallet.
