Agreed. However, the good experience was only with those managing the OCBC communications in HWZ. While those CSO on hotline was relatively friendly, they do not seem to be aware of the card benefits and qualifying merchants.
With my call made 2 days ago, the CSO did not even know Personal Care was a qualifying category and insisted it was never a qualifying category hence resulting in Guardian transaction not being awarded 10x. I had to explain to her instead and this is still a follow-up case as of now.
Yes, I went through the same thing. I had to educate the CSO and refer her to the various clauses in the T&Cs. The calls back and forth lasted maybe 2-3 weeks. This happened a few months back.
I recall very clearly when she ran me through the transactions that were awarded bonus OCBC$, Guardian was specifically mentioned as one of the transactions that was not awarded the bonus points. At that time, I used Apple Pay at Guardian, so I thought that points will not be awarded for mobile payments (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.) made at Guardian (see my previous post asking OCBC for clarification on the T&Cs). Thereon-after, I always swipe the card at Guardian. However, I never bothered to check if it was awarded bonus points as the previous experience with the CSO almost drove me up the wall.. not worth my time, effort and health.
Seeing that OCBC is proactive on HWZ answering questions, I thought this would be the best way of clarifying if Guardian is included under transactions that qualify for 10 OCBC$
