Offic 365 Subscription

Wondering if anyone here has any experience over the actual use of this product.

My organization of about 1500 people considering some options migrating from our traditional email server and Office 2007 app to the cloud (Office 365).

I personally have questions over this move. Say we have 1 user working for 5 months, but he/she decided to quit tomorrow. Without immediate replacement, can I actually stop her Office 365 subscription temporarily (say 1-2 months) and continue when someone comes?

Second question. Say I assign 1 user for the Office 365 subscription and if tomorrow that 1 user is being replaced, would I need to get a new subscription for the new user OR can I simply just "rename" to a new user?

Hi,

You need to put up request to remove unassigned licenses. Turnaround time is quite fast.
You can have users more than licenses. Unassigned licenses can't use any services.

You can rename the username but it will preserve the user existing mailbox.
You can delete the user and create new user using the spare license.
