I think I am the first to kick start such topic on AMD ryzen based laptop.
Computex is here, hope to hear what AMD have upcoming.
So far one Ryzen based laptop from Asus, the Asus ROG Strix G702ZC
based been revealed.

Asus ROG Strix G702ZC
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
AMD Radeon RX 580

This one it seems, the CPU is indeed a CPU not a APU.
APU means CPU + Graphic on one chip.
No exact specs known for both of this chip just hope it can
compete with Intel counterpart.

FYI the only retailers here in SG that in the past carry AMD laptop
is only Newstead.
The models they bring in are really little, desktop I have not seen
one based on AMD before.

So far in the past they have notebooks based on AMD are Acer, Asus and some other brand.
Don't ask why AMD notebooks aren't popular since I am the only few users
still using AMD.

However lately my AMD Phenom II (Mobile), AMD A10-5750 (Mobile) have died. MTBF issues not really due to heat and etc.
Models for these two are Asus K42DR and Asus X550DP if you want to know.

In today's context you won't see any more AMD notebook, mainly due to low popularity and not to mention most still have the misconception that AMD is hot. :s22:

AMD have changed so much in the past that most are still stuck with AMD K7 Thunderbird era.
AMD Bulldozer is a failure that is no denial but have Ryzen disappoint?

Just look at the threads at HWC about Ryzen does create hype.
AMD Turion based laptop wasn't also popular at that time, heat
and battery time concerns.

AMD Phenom II was an improvement over the past while AMD A10-5750
takes a step further especially the design went to slim.
Really hope to owned a Ryzen based laptop once it comes out, for the time being I am using a blue camp laptop which I don't usually don't.

Don't deem me a AMD fanboy, I have a Intel i7 laptop here.
Maybe will pit this against AMD Ryzen.

Ryzen based laptop models known so far

Asus ROG Strix G702ZC
AMD Ryzen 7 1700 8 core mobile CPU
AMD Radeon RX 580

https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ROG-Strix-GL702ZC/overview/

Acer there is one but unknown model.

Just hope Dell, Lenovo, HP can break the regional barrier and bring
in AMD laptop.
For such brand, AMD laptop are sold accordingly to specific region only.

Please don't start with AMD being hot.

im waiting for it to happen too. My trusty X550DP on A10-5750 still working. Changed the HDD to SSD . not for gaming but decent laptop to use.

and yes.. the only AMD laptops ive seen so far even on IT shows are Asus and Acer. Dell is region specific.

Sometimes I feel like buying overseas but the warranty and problems during shipment is what scares me

Actually X550DP can game, I tried before it can.
However only at low settings.
I also consider buying from overseas but like you mention the issues that
makes it not worth it.

Buying from overseas, the charger is also a issue.
Even if you go Newstead and request for it, they won't entertain.
Hope things will change with Ryzen.

Not much notebooks unveil during Computex 2017, their focus is more on desktop/server than mobile for the time being.
Despite Asus ROG Strix G702ZC looks good, just afraid of it's price tag especially in SGD.
$3K perhaps? :s22:
