Hopefully it's priced affordably :)

Glad that Microsoft made the right decision of not using arm processors (opting for a conventional Intel one) - making it possible to install the Pro version of Windows over 10S.

Hence, the achilles heel of the Surface laptop is more of a software limitation than say a hardware one - making it not suffer the same limitations and fate of how the Surface RT did - hardware and software wise.

Not able to flip the screen over to write on properly and no usb c is a deal breaker for me :(
Said they made this targeted for college students but how to write notes like that

That said it does look really good though, but kind of expensive.

people complain about the price of this but if you look at the cheap laptops... my god they all look like sweaty ugly ass*s

sure the specs could be bumped up a little more but look at the beauty of that thing, just so refined. for me, aesthetic is a fair aspect to consider when buying things

even in terms of aesthetic, though it is nice looking, it is not 'OMG...that's beautiful' level of nice.....it's basically comparable to Macbook air or asus zenbook...

the thing is..i can get a asus zenbook at about at around SGD$1400 more with 16GB RAM and double the storage...remember this thing base model is USD999....so it's already SGD$1300 at least for 8gb model.

I feel it's too pricy in an already very crowded laptop market. Surface Pro stood out then as it was one of the few good hybrids. Interesting to see how well they will sell this.

Re

I own the MS SP3 and SP4.....and.....regretted it because it comes with only 1 USB 3.0 port.

This new MS Surface Laptop is also the same. Yes, you can use a USB hub but the max output current from the USB 3.0 port is 0.9A. Remember this!!

The next laptop I buy will be a multi-USB port laptop. I won't be making the same mistake again.

Second issue. MS goes with UEFI/GPT boot up only. There's no backward support for BIOS/MBR. If you intend to run another OS off a USB stick like TAILS OS then you'll not be able to do it because TAILS OS works on BIOS/MBR only.

Good luck to those who want to buy the new MS Surface Laptop

What's with the fabric on the keyboard, wouldn't that become dirty over time? :s11:

They trying to fight the Chromebook which trashed their Netbook.... but they will be a failure the third time with this after the Netbook and Windows RT...

Chromebook catches on because it is cheap and usable. This is not cheap.

Can buy to play play.

One thing about laptop is that once you buy it, be prepared for a steep lost when you try to sell it. Plus, even if you can afford it, I am not sure if it is worth it for the price. For the base price, I am pretty sure you can find many decent laptops/ Ultrabooks out there.
