Office Computer Reccomendation

Hi, I need some opinions on a few options that I thought about. Using for normal office work, might need to do some light CAD work too. While the CAD work is 2D, if the file is a 3D file, is it considered as 3D CAD work? As I know 2D CAD doesn't really need a discrete gpu, but cpu power is more important. So here are my options.

AMD
A10 7850K

Intel 1
i5 4440

Intel 2
i5 3470 + HD7750

What are the pros and cons of each option and which will be the best option? Thanks in advance

You'd have to have quite a number of 3D objects for a 3D CAD file to put the CPU/GPU under any significant load.

That said, try to go for something better than a HD6450 or Intel integrated; those 2 can screw up the graphics at times.

My analysis...

Local market prices are saddening given that Core i5-3350P + equivalent brand and tier motherboard + HD 7750 discrete card can be acquired for a mere $20 more.

This $20 + copy of BattleField 4 may be further offset by the disadvantage of the need for high speed RAM to maximise APU's iGPU performance.

e.g.

Intel Core i5-3350P + ASRock B75M-DGS ($271) + Value DDR3-1600 CL11 8GB RAM ($85) + PowerColor HD 7750 1GB ($87) = $443

AMD A10-7850K + ASRock FM2A88M-HD+ ($341) + G.Skill ARES DDR3-2133 CL10 4GB X2 ($129) - BattleField 4 (~$30) = $440

Their HSA needs to takeoff asap in order to attract potential buyers.

I'm thinking more of using A85 instead of A88 as I don't need PCI-E 3.0, and just normal 1600MHz rams. Btw, the bf4 bundle only applies to A88 boards? Although i5 3350p is faster than 7850k, is the real life performance noticeable? Like just normal excel, word and ppt work?

For AutoCAD, you will need the best single-thread performance. And hyperthreading is still a big no no, as well as bulldozer-onwards based architecture CPUs as FP scheduler is shared. So i would actually suggest you get dual core Pentium G with no bell and whistle that are useless for CAD, which is also sufficiently speedy for Office applications. Discrete HD 7750 will also answer for the GPGPU requirements that will exceeds whatever can be offered by current AMD APUs. In all, you get something necessary faster, more energy-efficient and cheaper going Intel as of now.

RAM: ADATA Premier DDR3-1600 CL11 8GB @ $85
GPU: PowerColor HD 7750 1GB @ $87

Total: $317

If you're planning on doing any BIM on this PC in the future though, the recommendation will be quite different.

Ah, no BIM, just simple autoCAD.

ic, $ is not mine, should i go for an i5, since bosses usually only allow new pc like once every million years or spoil. lol. Thanks again $face, you have always been helpful.

And it means I won't have excuse to build APUs. Haiz. Wanna support AMD so much. Pricing in sg is not competitive right? In other countries APUs are much more bang for buck?
