just wondering, if anyone had brought their 12" to a.lab or qlab for repairs. with the repairability score of 1 ( from ifixit), can they even repair anything ? 1 to 1 exch ? heh..... #iwish:s11:

Don't hope for that. It was a disappointing moment for me.
Waiting for Apple Retail Store to open and it will be "Hallelujah!"

i agree. even for other laptops, this can be very convenient. for myself, it is really a hassle having to plug in power cable, display and mouse cable each time i go to my main desk. having to just plug 1 cable helps a lot.

But I've been using the MacBook without any docks, etc. Just the $28 USB-C to USB-A. Just that sometimes ripping DVD/MP3s will be lack of power in 2 - 3 hours. So need a dock for simple solution instead of the typical Apple cable which is expensive and ugly.

yeah, wait for more reviews since it is owc. but chances are high since the dock itself requires external power.

Yeah. I think the "overcharging" is my main concern with power delivery.

what happened ? did you really bring it for repairs ? mind sharing FR ?

Just the hassle. Apple contacted me and was willing to do 1-to-1. But Singapore do not have a Apple Retail Store. So..... they arranged to take a look.

But didn't resolve any issues.

In the end, I just formatted the system with fresh El Capitan from Yosemite, reset SMC and PRAM and solved all the issues.

brought mine there for repair before, once of my keys got stuck, no tactile feedback. manage to fix it after 2 tries. first try the stuck key was fixed, but another key got stuck.

iirc they have to replace the whole keyboard for this issue

i would imagine they just replace the key that was spoilt instead of the entire keyboard. iirc, the keyboard is not a single module ?:s11:

Anyone using external monitor to use at home?

can you recommend me a monitor?

will a QHD 1440p replicate the same resolution as retina display? or standard 1080p res good enough?

looking at 23-24" only.

Dell U2515... if non glossy is your thing. i personally like non glossy. its 2K resolution. I hooked it up with my macbook pro with the mini dp (cable included) and yes the resolution is 1440.

anyone any idea on where to get the twelve south book arc for this macbook?

Anyone running lightroom btw? how’s the performance like?

Sent from Samsung SM-N920I using GAGT

i hasn't seen it in local store here.

just wondering if anyone here used twelve south parcslope? it looks great and is one of the few stand which does not requires an external keyboard to use, but i am scare that the angle of 18 degree is to steep for comfortable typing. what do you guy think?
