Guys, sorry noob qn.

hemming with out touching chain stitch means what?
i thought hemming = only pin away excess length, cut awy and finish at btm.

and whats a selvage?
i thought tapering u do it via inseam, draw up, sew and cut away excess?

Will be doing doing both = 50 dollar per pair!?

I'll like to alter the size of my jeans...just the waist and slightly shorten the hem...

Does tet tailor provides such services and the cost? Anyone done that before?

tet is good but of course prices are higher and waiting time will always be quoted as "2 weeks". but will eventually be faster. the uncle there can basically do anything.

Bumping this up to see if there is any more recommended tailors or the current prices/ review of TET Tailors cos I have a brand new pair of jeans that i need to reduce the size overall due to weight loss. I bought the pair due to rarity but have not worn it yet.

Normally I would replace jeans and and get new ones rather than alter but this is made in USA using deadstock selvedge and the dye color is unique and cannot be found anywhere.

So my options are 1) to have it altered and pay more for quality workmanship or 2) sell it away and use part of the funds to buy another pair.

Any advice? Pics of Jeans can be found here.

Are any of these tailors able to 'expand' the jeans? I have a pair of skinny jeans that are super loose ard the waist but way too tight across the calf.

How much will altering cost? Will it be considered 2 alterations?

altering shirt costs?! got so ex ah

hi guys and girls

today i went to far east plaza 04-89 (clancy boutique) to alter a shirt from h&m

because the shirt was too baggy for me, i wanted to alter the sleeve to be tighter (raise up hand got a lot of excess cloth), the sides to be tapered, the sleeve length to be slightly shorter, the shirt length to be shorter, and the back of the shirt to be tighter.

the total cost was 83 at first! but then i cut to 65 because the auntie say can cheaper if i don't want to keep the selvedge inside (also cannot see anyway, and not jeans)

i didn't know it costs so much to 65. did i just get ripped off? the shirt was bought by my gf, so i die die want to make the shirt fit me nicely so i can wear it often and look nice in it
