The Touch ID will definitely be under the display. Full screen Touch ID probably. Apple will stick to weekdays to launch their product.

Alleged Foxconn insiders leaked details about Apple’s forthcoming devices in Reddit thread

IPHONE 8
Foxconninsider referred to the overhauled iPhone as the iPhone X, and that production has been delayed, which is in line with some rumors that have surfaced recently. The user noted that some of the leaked designs weren’t accurate, and explained that the new version looked “more like an iPhone 7 with glass and without the AuthenTec's capacitive touch module.” When asked if which leaked image it looked like the most, they said that the middle one was the most accurate. The rear camera has been reoriented, and the bezel on the phone will be thinner on the Y-axis.

They also reported that they saw some “test units with fingerprint scanners mounted below the glass, but performance and yield rates were not good.” They explained that they haven’t seen a rumored rear fingerprint scanner, speculating that it might have been misinformation. The phone will apparently also use Facial Detection and a Retina Scanner, which will be “included in the front facing camera modules.”

They detailed some other tidbits about the overhauled model: it would come with 3GB RAM, that it doesn’t have an aluminum unibody, but instead had a “composite glass to allow wireless charging,” with a rear panel. They also noted that the new iPhone will be “water resistant” (a feature already shared by the iPhone 7), and that they won’t use USB-C.

RIP touch ID?

and how KGI almost always got his analysis/predictions right:
It's a distributed network with thousands of people having exposure on the same information; most of which is already sold to KGI securities and other analysts for their reports.
Apple world wide loyalty team did have central security investigate some divisions after our last post however.

then again. this is the Internet. so there is a good chance this is jus faked news. :)

Low OLED Panel Yield Could Cap 'iPhone 8' Availability at 4 Million Units in 2017

DigiTimes cited industry sources predicting that the shipments could end up behind schedule because of the issues, despite chipset suppliers delivering parts early and an increased recruitment drive by companies in the assembly line.

As covered previously on MacRumors, Samsung is the main supplier of display panels for Apple's 5.8-inch OLED iPhone, with Apple reportedly having ordered 70 million units from the company this year.

However, although Samsung Display has promised to fully support Apple with regards to the supply of OLED panels, DigiTimes' sources are now claiming only 3 to 4 million OLED-based iPhones will be ready for shipping before the new smartphones are unveiled at a product event slated for September.

Don't be surprised if Apple falls back to rear fingerprint design
When they wanted Sapphire glass screen and GT Advanced Tech couldn't deliver, they immediately fell back to their previous supplier.
unless they are okay with the AirPod 6-weeks wait situation which is still a thing at the moment.

Better to have a stable hardware like Touch ID test stable then launch lor

Example case is when Sammy just intro the touch or swipe up to authorized the Trumb scan on their Galaxy and its a flop vs the first Touch ID on iPhone 5s which is a blast to use

I don't mind a rear Touch ID lor but to some is sucks ifvput on table need lift up the phone to login unless apple really do a Iris scanner auto no need to press any button when u lift up phone since now new phone willl auto light up when u lift up from 6s on ward then I will auto iris u

And those who drives phone on dash broad can't login too hahahhah

Ming-Chi Kuo Predicts iPhone 8 Will Omit Touch ID Entirely, Come in Limited Color Options

1: Apple will roll out three iPhone models in 2H17, including an all-new design 5.2” (or 5.8” depending on the definition of screen size in use) OLED iPhone & LCD models including 4.7” & 5.5” (front form factor design similar to current ones).

2: OLED iPhone will adopt full-screen design, with the highest screen-to-body ratio of any smartphone currently available worldwide (thanks to a notch display design); the OLED model will also come with a virtual Home button, though the button will not support fingerprint recognition.

3: OLED iPhone will support 3D sensing for facial recognition & improved selfie quality.

4: OLED iPhone & 5.5” LCD iPhone will both come with DRAM capacity of 3GB (for dual-camera requirements), while 4.7” version will only use 2GB DRAM (for only single camera).

5: Three new models will all come with 64GB and 256GB storage options.

6: All three new models will have a Lightning port; however, there will be an embedded USB-C power delivery IC for higher charging efficiency.

7: The output power of the receiver & speaker of OLED iPhone will be more consistent to create better stereo effects.

8: To maintain its boutique image, we think the OLED version will offer fewer options for casing colors than LCD iPhone models.

9: We predict October-November & August-September as production ramp-up schedules of OLED iPhone & LCD iPhone, respectively. "For optimized promotional effect, we think Apple may unveil the three models simultaneously in September, though the launch date of the OLED version may trail that of LCD models, and supply tightness may not improve before 1H18."

10: We forecast shipments of the three new models in 2017F will be 80-85mn units, with an equal split between OLED & LCD versions.

more importantly..
Kuo's new predictions also continue to corroborate the iPhone 8's lack of a physical Home button, but he goes on to state that Touch ID will not be incorporated into the OLED smartphone's display. The analyst didn't provide any mention of Touch ID moving elsewhere on the iPhone 8, like the back of the device or lock button as has been previously rumored and largely debunked.

"We predict the OLED model won’t support fingerprint recognition, reasons being: (1) the full-screen design doesn’t work with existing capacitive fingerprint recognition, and (2) the scan-through ability of the under-display fingerprint solution still has technical challenges, including: (i) requirement for a more complex panel pixel design; (ii) disappointing scan-through of OLED panel despite it being thinner than LCD panel; and (iii) weakened scan-through performance due to overlayered panel module. As the new OLED iPhone won’t support under-display fingerprint recognition, we now do not expect production ramp-up will be delayed again (we previously projected the ramp-up would be postponed to late October or later)."

Mr Ming-Chi Kuo at it again. Remember some of them are real as a previous reddit thread did mention his team buys information off leakers.

I guess.... RIP Touch ID?

jus one question: how to use Apple Pay. Facial recognition? that's not secured man.

No matter how credible, there is still a chance that this analyst might be wrong.

I’d guess the next likely location for Touch ID would be the power button.

It makes sense to remove Touch ID if there is facial recognition.

I trust Apple won't launch a product with defects if it doesn't work.

from what i heard. got IR and 3D sensing to ensure that it is not a photo.
but still 0 security coz the phone can be unlocked by someone else as long as they can get the phone to face you.
a very serious problem in USA and their FBI problem.

if can't work at night. GG to black people unlocking their phones in the dark. :s22:
and also the light from the OLED itself should be powerful enough to illuminate your face :o

come to think about it, face recognition with Apple Pay will be nice to use since i can jus hold the phone by the side without having the thumb on the home when making payment. i dunno lol.

Touch ID still a 2nd backup to authentic lor
While the 3D face scanner is a plus to have

Unless apple really test all scenarios then launch it

Doesn't make sense to have 3 ways to unlock a phone.

Plus TouchID doesn't always work especially when my finger is oily.

Just hope that the new models will have dual camera specifically the non-plus size. Until today I think the iPhone 7 plus is too big. But it has a good dual camera.
