How much is the 128 i5 version?
I went and check north point version today and found out that they carry the adata version. But there is only the i7 version on display, and the sales person himself also dunno the pricing.

Retail @ SIN $1,498

There is one thing which I don't really like about this zenbook is the keyboard. Everything looks nice, feels nice but when try to type on it, it just feels weird. It's the tactile feel I guess. Anyone feel the same way?

Bought a i7 unit @ Harvey Norman Millenia Walk today for $1698. Their demo unit was having a 128gb AData SSD. However the one I got turns out to be a SanDisk SSD. A little disappointed as I thought all 128gb were AData.

The feel is OK with me

Maybe I am a "Mickey" Mouse person

Use mouse more then keyboard.

Mine is the 128gb AData.

Did they issue you the warranty card

Need to go to SL SQ to get a screen protector and a external ROM later after work

no warranty card inside box and no retailers does not give them. When i got from last show, they gave me a paper showing the steps on how to register for online warranty.

Warranty goes through and was advised to keep the receipt. That's all. Tried logging back as Asus member, since its a must, and the warranty appears.

ASUS UX Owners,

Got some quick questions and appreciate someone can answer me.

1. Does the set comes with a warranty card ? or do you use the Purchase order as proof of warranty ?

See my reply above.

2. Which model of the ASUS external CD ROM did you purchase, how much and purchase from where ?

Can't comment but got mine free with UX purchase. Model SDRW-08D2S-U Lite. So far so good. Even with USB 2.0 hub it can function.

3. Anyone purchase the LCD screen protector for the screen like the matt or glossy type? Purchase from where and cost ?

Sorry don't use.

4. As for the keyboard, protective sleeves that fits exactly to the keys contour or just a flat sheet ? Purchase where and how much.

Sorry don't use.

5. Does all Singapore UX 31 set comes by default 2 years international warranty ?

Seems all Asus comes with 2yrs. But nothing mention in any documents inside the box, and Asus account just list start date. Blind trust i guess.

I believe quite a number of UX users will be interesetd with my "POP UP" questions, :D

regards

Only issue for me is the USB ports are alittle "loose". Not really loose but you know some USB ports have alot of resistance when plugging in.

Cheers!

Just got a custom anti glare screen protector for my UX31 for $32 including pasting.

The gal spent about 20 to 25 minutes trying to clean up and pasting

Hello, Wanted to start a thread for zenbook users to share information and share tips.

I managed to grab a set at Sitex and was thinking of upgrading the SSD.

May I know what brand 128GB i5 SSD's you guys are using? Apparently ASUS swapped out some UX31 with the slower lower spec SANDISK 128GB from the ADATA/SANDFORCE 128GB. As a result, the Windows Experience Index for HDD read speeds drops significanty from 7.9 to 5.9.

UPDATE: Found it deep in the notebookreview forums. This thread had over a thousand posts :O

Asus UX31 Ultrabook - Page 28
vs
Asus UX31 Ultrabook - Page 27

Which hard drives are you guys using - the Sandisk u100 or the faster adata ones?

Let us know!

I never like this brand to start with. BTW, the performance seem much different.

actually not much bloatware except for the 300mb Zen screen saver. The big one is the recovery partition. That can free up alot, 8 or 9Gb, can't remember.

FYI i delete the PowerWiz and Power4Gear Hybrid.
