Not sure since I've only had 30 min exp with the 08 XTR and previously with 06 XT hubs. But damn.. the engagement is a lot faster than what I'm used to. The XTR hubs are also very smooth and silent, when freewheeling, the rear hub sounds like very quiet crickets. Good for overtaking someone stealthily hehehehe
