According to news, the Cantonese version added in scenes that were edited out in the Chinese version, because they wanted to tell the story from the HK perspective.

Eh but funny leh, if Chinese is 36 eps then means the China version got a lot of unnecessary scenes isn't it

I just found out the difference between Cantonese and Chinese version

Chinese: 36 episodes, Chinese dubbed, theme songs sung in Chinese, some scenes are not in the Cantonese version

Cantonese: 30 episodes, original audio (China actor and actresses voices are Cantonese dubbed), theme songs sung in Cantonese, included scenes that were not in the Chinese version

Yeah and it takes place 10+ years later after the 3 films

Eric Tsang is the only original character to appear in this TV series (but only for a while)
