Heng ar, got gold save my day, huat ar , bro Canberra also huat on gold...yellow yellow .gxgx

Just semi recovered from hangover due to beer overdose last night! :s13:

Yes gold shot up more than usual today. Price should continue to head north as Chinese New Year approaches. This year end window is always a safe play on gold dip buying just after a Fed rate hike and Chinese demand.

At 7:39am today a flash spike for EUR/USD pulled up CHF and JPY pairs. That caused my stop limit sell order for CHF/SGD to be triggered at a loss of 24 pips. Either there was slippage or I forgot to re-adjust the stop. My CHF/SGD position was down -161 pips previously. :D

Happy New Year 2017

Wish everyone a Happy New Year 2017! :s12:

Huat more in the coming year.

It has been an enjoyable time posting almost daily ever since this thread started. Hope Daimon kor kor return to post soon. :s13:

In 2017 I must practice more semi FIFO strategy. Aim to take daily profit by automation with stop limit buy/sell instead of monitoring 24/7.

Strategy

still no stop lost? and what is the percentage of stop limit buy/sell?

Need to tweak my current strategy a bit as I feel not efficient. Yes still no stop loss. I am going for buy and hold.

Daily target price 20-50 pips profit per position. Bottom fishing. LONG postions only.

Let's say I start from a clean slate. I place stop limit buy/sell orders for 10 different currency pairs. After research then only enter at a price where the downside risk is limited or safer. If currency pair is trading at 52 week high then I would rather not trade and shelf this currency pair for a later date.

I forgot about my fundamentals and got carry away with electronic trading. Clicking is too tempting like online gaming.

I must go back to the strategy when I was trading physical cash. In April to August 2016 when USD is around 1.35 - 1.37 region. I can easily profit 100 pips monthly with just 1 trade with little monitoring. Just need to go down to money changer twice. Catching a few pips here and there 24/7 with electronic trading is just too time consuming and tiring.

So if I was still trading physical cash and when USD hit 1.4X region I will most likely stop as 2015 is a good reference. With physical cash trading I cannot open SHORT position unless I purposely want to lose money. :s13: With electronic trading I lost some discipline and keep chasing the high or low.

Remember just after Fed rate hike and before Christmas I mentioned the window for physical gold dip buying is open again. That is because I study the trend for 1 whole year. I did my due diligence in research and enter at a price that I feel the downside is limited or safer. This is why I dare not open gold position in my trading account. Trading gold spot rate with margin can easily up lorry if things went wrong.

Never forget about fundamentals.
