Rivervale area gonna kao peh about upgrading soon. Block 101 to 110 already 20 years. One of my ex neighbor are the pioneer batch that moved in in 1997

Compassvale area is the one that has no significant new landmark all these years, other than a childcare. Therfore got pap or no pap, it really doesn't make any difference

Anchorvale is the one with a hospital. Together with compassvale, it also stagnated with no significant landmark after the stadium

Fernvale ppl still want more of this and that...

OK that's about it for this town for those who bothers...

Each GRC can only nominate one representative for NCMP.

This is part of the reason why Goh Meng Seng felt disgruntled when Sylvia Lim was chosen by WP for the NCMP position when both contested in Aljunied.

Goh Meng Seng left after that.

I think it was Best Denki n not Harvey..foodcourt used to be at L2.

Can't remember liao... but I remember best denki was at compass point mall, now also gone liao, and metro also... now i want to buy a pair of underwear also don't know go where to find...

Yes, missed Metro..used to go there hoot lego when there is 20% discount.

Go tampines mall buy teh kor loh..convenient to go tampines, yishun cos we r kiap in the “middle”.

I know. Due to some saga with the posts he made on his Facebook account he left. But part of the reason is also his disgruntled at Sylvia Lim getting the NCMP spot instead of him.

Seriously leh, the only shops I see that got people queue or even patronise are mainly f&b or the essential ones like popular and supermarket.. I don’t understand how the rest of the shops even stay open lol

Lol. I know there's a triumph shop... anyway I seldom spend much time at the mall unless I'm shopping at cold storage. There's nothing to shop in this place. Don't know why it's always so crowded. I guess SK residents really got no other places to go in the area.

Lived here for almost 20 years and this is what I get:

1. A pretty shiatty Compass One mall that went through renovation once and remained pretty shiatty (No cinema, not much dining options and a shiatty management that is lazy to develop an app for points redemption) while we see neighbouring malls like Waterway Point being much better in terms of options.

2. A lousy air-conditioned bus interchange and because of space constraints (or poor planning), had to build a new extension outside the mall (named Compassvale interchange). The most epic fail about this "air-conditioned" bus interchange is that you can't feel any air-con inside and there are fans installed all over the bus interchange just to keep it cool.

3. Lousy bus services. Other than Bus svc 80, no other services to town, meaning that you would have to take the NEL. In the past, when the NEL breaks down, it took the bridging bus 1h 30mins to travel from Sengkang to Hougang. Ended up 3 hours late for work.

4. The hyped-up Sengkang Hospital. My father-in-law, who also stays in Sengkang, had to go for follow-ups after his heart bypass surgery. But guess what, he was told to go KTPH instead as they do not have the facilities/staff. So, what's the use of having a hospital here in my neighbourhood?

Totally agree on the bus interchange. The designs bit cui and forever under maintenance.

Also agree that SK population so much already yet still not a single NEA Hawker Center.

I remember the ntuc quite spacious last time. Now it's so packed. Then recent months everyone was in panic mode in ntuc. Want to stand one corner and wait also cannot.

I was excited when i heard new GRC forming in sengkang and I thought I can finally get to vote for WP in a GE.

Then I realise that my part of sengkang is still part of AMK GRC.

Like that how? AMK almost certainly will go to PAP as it is their stronghold and I don't think a strong OPPO will contest AMK

Ironic thing is... I just cross the road the area is under Sengkang GRC
