If Cpf give a compounding guranteed interest of 2% to 4% every year, so why we don't put all our money into Cpf?

Heya sinkie. Inflexibility/not liquid and moving goal posts for this i guess.
AK did well with this though.

Because it's fun. I keep a little "play-money account" around so that I can trade interest rates or commodities or FX or whatever, and have some fun without interfering with my big, boring, sensible ETF portfolio. It's fun to take a position and see it go in your favour!

Wat % of play money out of ur entire portfolio? If the play money goes bust, would you reallocate as such?

True one reason for me is the fun.
However main reason is when I first started to buy stocks I weren't aware of etfs. So all my money were already parked into individual stocks. And i am still trying to move those into etfs. But yes any spare cash I have is slowly accumulating etf now.

Pretty much similar, but i believe urs much bigger

I think now can start to buy a bit a bit liao. At 9plus PE and close to 1 Pb and 4.1 yield. It's buying a good company at a fair value liaos

For it to be 5% dividend, OCBC needs to drop to abt $7.20. Got chance boh? OCBC's 5 year low is abt $7.50.

I hope can buy at $7+.

With a mixture of STI ETFs, my favourite REITs, telcos and low priced banks in my portfolio, maybe I can get an average return of 5% from my money whilst also betting on growth.

if I not wrong Sirius is those last time u see at MRT ask u to donate to some WWF charity type.. last time got a lot but now like suddenly all disappear.. think they sometimes also take up jobs from like big companies like Singtel/insurance companies/etc to make up the numbers for credit card roadshows etc
