People over there living stardard are quite high and their market really very huge. Just a famous shop at shanghai bund area, I have to wait for 30 minutes before i get a seat. The building was 3 storeys, just selling xiao long bao.
Shopping centres also full of people.

Been to one near Yu Yuan last year.

I guess the question now is whether the regulations and fund injections can turn the market around, which I doubt it will in the short term. Like all the Fed QEs, this isn't fixing the underlying issue.

Better for the market to quickly collapse to 1800 so that we can have a V shape recovery all the way to STI 4000. Damn these interfering Chinese mandarins. Btw, Happy CNY hor.

Don;t think so lah, even I myself now thinking of selling some other stocks to buy in, already see signs of bottoming up leh.

A good sign will be market stop/less responding to negative news.

I just wonder how many of you personally went to shanghai/hangzhou/beijing before?

now lesser PRC chinese come to SG already.

People concern most companies in china using debt to grow, but somehow as long as the demand and the market still there, this problem will be solved eventually.

Yes u are right china are using debt to grow, but now the world are worried about China's enormous bad debt growing exponentially.
They have been building alot of unutilised infrastructure to sustain their GDP, example alot of ghost cities in china.
To china its all about face value, they will not hesitate to pump in loads of money to maintain their key GDP value of 7%.
Yes today they have to pump in money again to sustain the market, imagine my GDP is already 6.8 and my market still falls ... no face. :D

Quite a huge percentage of my ex coursemates are tuition teachers, I think i am the only one that can sustain on tuition alone. Most of them stop already. Try first, then you will know it is not easy.

I always found it sadly funny that a lot of NUS Chemical Engineering graduates end up in teaching and private tuition. Expected demand estimated by EDB says ~150, department manufacture 300 students. Of course oversupply lar. Two faced engineering manager from KBR at career fair ALWAYS says hire 3 this year (like f***, they hire 3 from their home country, if any).

Number can be manipulated. Money can be printed.

No use, all pumping and injecting funds is injecting morphine only.
Like u say, similar to QE, not solving the main issue.

I still don't get why China have to support at 3000 level, last time china government don't really care how the stock market perform, they just focused on how the real economy grew.
Seems like it has changed.

6.8% on such a huge base is quite impressive, it is definitely not the same as 7% few years ago.

I let you see a picture, current salary for graduate in CHina:

U are right again, if not manipulated, it would be much lower than 6.8 aredy :)

I recall that some fund mangers mentioned stuff about electricity usage in China. That's partly why official numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Market affect the overall economy. When everyone see market crashes, everyone would stop spending... Especially those who tio burnt in the market...
A nation's economy is tie to the market in many ways. One affect the other.

Not so in sg where only a small % are vested in the market.
