So you are saying that the iris scanner is faster than using pattern lock or typing your passcode in?

I tried the note 7 iris scanner
- had to be a certain distance for it to work
- took sometime to authenticate and unlock but maybe like you say glasses took sometime.

I am 90% sure if you have to look at the scanner for it to work. Yes if you use pattern lock or passcode you also have to look at the screen but I am pretty sure most people here do not need to look at their screen for more than 1 second just to do that since it's muscle memory already

The iris scanner is meant for additional security, not so much for convenience of unlocking.

Yup. Same as pattern or pin. Once you get the muscle memory, it's easy. My wife takes a second to unlock her phone. Even while walking. But the first few days, it was impossible for her to unlock her phone unless she kept still. For me, I only use when biking so not as good. But, since my pin is a complicated one, still faster than pin.

That's their method of differentiating the plus and normal 7. I guess the plus doesn't just mean a bigger screen.

Won't prevent but there is a short delay that is noticeable. People with no glasses once they get the muscle memory, it's instant, sometimes don't even get to see it scanning and you're in. But with glasses, it will pause there for a moment then unlock.

Like I say lo, it's going to be a gimmick to most but there are some that appreciate it. My uncle who is a fishmonger uses iris scanner alot now. He has been using note series cuz of the spen. When his hands wet, use spen. But I think it's more likely to be used by people who wear gloves regularly for work or other reasons.
